What is the City Stadium Run For Veterans?  The best way to answer this question is to briefly explain the three goals associated with the run.

Goal One
To showcase historic City Stadium, home of the Green Bay Packers from 1925-1956.  In 2002, City Stadium was renovated to the tune of $300,000 to help embrace the proud history of the Green Bay Packers. Some of the features of the stadium you will see are a new sign, gate, memorial garden and historic plaques of Packers history when they called City Stadium home.

Goal Two
To feature and showcase the beautiful green parks and pedestrian trails along the 5K course.  The course will take you through three gorgeous parks tucked along the East River utilizing the East River Trail and the Cora Vanderperren Trail. You will get the feel of being in a small town setting when you are actually just minutes from downtown Green Bay!

Goal Three:

To help and showcase our Veterans.  Each year we will earmark a Veteran cause for our proceeds.  The first three year's have generated over $27,000 for our worthy men and women who served our country. We are so excited to announce that Musicorps and the Wounded Warrior Band will be this year’s beneficiary for the 4th annual City Stadium Run for Veterans. What is MusiCorps? MusiCorps is a conservatory-level music rehabilitation program at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that helps wounded warriors play music and recover their lives. It has been praised by the Wall Street Journal as “revolutionary,” is pioneering in the field of adaptive music, and has helped countless wounded warriors, including those who faltered with conventional therapy and flourished in MusiCorps. Facing long and difficult recoveries, MusiCorps brings activity, purpose, and joy, and aids recovery from war-related trauma, including PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and TBI (traumatic brain injury). The MusiCorps Wounded Warrior Band, the performance component of MusiCorps, has performed with Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters, Yo-Yo Ma, and Sheryl Crow, on the Colbert Report, and at the Kennedy Center, Madison Square Garden, and the Grand Ole Opry. In 2014 CNN selected MusiCorps founder Arthur Bloom as one of their 2014 Top 10 Heroes Of The Year. For more information please visit their website at: http://musicorps.net

So, come along with us and "Run For Veterans" at historic City Stadium on Sept. 12, 2015!
